Middleweight titleholders Canelo Alvarez and Daniel Jacobs ‘MIRACLE MAN’ will starts a 3-city promotional tour on Feb. 27 to hype up their big May 4 showdown, which will stream live on DAZN.
Canelo Alvarez (50-1-2, 34 KOs), WBC, WBA, Lineal and Ring Magazine Middleweight World Champion, and Daniel Jacobs “Miracle Man” (35-2, 29 KOs), IBF Middleweight World Champion, will kick off an international press tour on Wednesday, Feb. 27 ahead of their 12-round unification fight during the celebratory weekend of Cinco de Mayo.
Canelo vs Jacobs fight is sure to be one of the biggest and most highly-anticipated fights of 2019. The fight is set for T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The event is sponsored by Tecate, “THE OFFICIAL BEER OF BOXING” and Hennessy “Never Stop. Never Settle.” The event will take place Saturday, May 4, 2019 at T-Mobile Arena and will be streamed live exclusively on DAZN.
The promotional tour starts Feb. 27 in New York, before heading to Mexico on March 1, and ending in Los Angeles on March 4. Events will be open to the public, according to Golden Boy, with details about that still to come.
Other than the main event, not much is yet known about the May 4 card, but that should change in the coming weeks. We do know that Vergil Ortiz Jr, a top 140-pound prospect with a 12-0 (12 KO) record, will be part of the undercard.
